Essex Chapter H.O.G

How to become a member of H.O.G (Harley Owners Group)

There are two ways to become a member of H.O.G:
The first method is to buy a new Harley Davidson Motorcycle, in wich case you receive the first years free membership, just fill in the forms you recieve with your bike and send them off. The dealership will be happy to help you with this, if you have any problems, just ask them for assistance.

If you have access to the web you can go to the H.O.G website and fill in the form online. In both cases you will need your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The VIN is unique to every vehicle and is stamped on the frame of your bike behind the forks and will also be in the documents you get with your new bike. In fact, this number is used quite a lot, so it would be a good idea to write this number down for ease of access, as any communication regarding your bike with the dealership or H.O.G will require this number.

The second method is for when you buy a second hand Harley Davidson Motorcycle. You don't get the advantage of the first year's free membership. However you can ask your dealership for the forms, fill them in and send them off to H.O.G.

Again, if you have access to the web you can go to the H.O.G website and apply that way. Whatever method you use you will still require the VIN, so make a note of it or have your documents with you.

How to join a Chapter

Once you have joined H.O.G you can then join a Chapter, the dealership will inform you of their local Chapter, but if you've bought the bike from a dealership that's not local or you have bought a second hand bike you can find out which is your nearest Chapter via the web (just type into your favourite search engine - hog chapters UK) this will result in many of the UK Chapters being listed. Or you can use the Chapter Locator on the H.O.G website. The link for this is on the same page as the link for joining H.O.G.
You can also see a list of most UK Chapters on our Links page.
Once you have decided on which Chapter to join, drop them an email requesting a "New Membership Form" or download one from their website (if available), or, turn up at one of their meeting places and see their "New Members Rep", they will help you through the process of joining.

That just about sums it up. Any questions can be dealt with via your dealership, they will be only to happy to help. Or email your local Chapter, many of them have links on their websites so you can email one of their officers and get help that way.

It only remains for us to say "We hope we will be seeing you soon - Ride safe".
